Camerawork:
-Close ups and extreme close ups of Karl's expressions so that you can try and understand the different scenarios and situations that he is in

-Medium and long shots so that you can see the vast landscapes and picturesque views that different countries have to offer. I.e Red Square

-Canted angle shot from the underneath of an aeroplane in flight so that there is variation in the camera shots so its more visually interesting for the audience

Mise-En-Scene:
-Shots of Karl where there is Russian landscape in the background to try and emphasise the vast amounts of forestry in the region

-Shots with astronomical technology so you can see the situation that Karl is in when he does his training

-Various shots of Karl on the train, experiencing the different class systems in Russia, amongst different people. Hectic looking scenario

-The clothes in which Karl is wearing are clothes that you would stereotypically associate with somebody that is exploring places. Khaki and natural colours.

-Establishing where Karl is in the world. sitting down in a mongol home in the middle of a desert where there are lots of rugs and throws inside the home, shows the contrast of their lifestyle in comparison to the one that Karl lives .
Sound:
-Cars beeping when there are shots in city

-Sound of the train on the tracks

-Mobiles ringing so you hear the conversations between Karl and both Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant

-Clumsy music, with lots of glockenspiels and instruments of that sort so, which tries to portray the clumsy nature that Karl is known for

-Diegetic sound when karl is experiencing the traditional mongol music

-Lots of sound being produced from people in cities and towns. Tries to give the audience the first hand experience that Karl is experiencing.

Editing:
-Slow transitions between frames which connotes the slow nature of Karl

-Cutaways between shots

Graphics:
-Opening titles to establish what the programme is to the audience

-When karl enters a different country or region in a country, a type writer style font is being typed across the bottom of the screen so you know where Karl has gone to.
